Description

An eastward light spread producing an extra left side of the central doorway on Monticello identifies this 2020 Jefferson nickel reverse variety as VDDR-007, cataloged by VarietyVista with UVC and DMR codes currently pending assignment. Three die stages are tracked: Stage A remains unconfirmed at early die state; Stage B enters early-to-mid-die state, marked by a die depression in the field west of the Monticello building and an early-to-mid-die-state obverse; and Stage C is unconfirmed at late die state. The central doorway of Thomas Jefferson's Virginia estate has proven to be one of the most productive areas for detecting doubled dies on the nickel reverse across multiple production years, and VDDR-007 continues that well-established pattern with its eastward displacement adding definition to the architectural details of the Schlag design.
