2020 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-028

Description

Attributed by the Wexler Team and cataloged as WDDR-028, this 2020-P Jefferson nickel is a Class VIII (Tilted Hub) doubled die reverse displaying doubling below and inside the triangle above the center door above the steps of Monticello. The coin weighs 5.0 grams, measures 21.2 mm in diameter, and is composed of 75% copper and 25% nickel, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. No obverse die markers have been noted. The reverse presents multiple diagnostics: a die scratch running from the S of PLURIBUS through the first U of UNUM, a small die dot below the right side of the first T of STATES, and two die dents above and between the small and long left windows of the Monticello building. Cross-referenced as Wexler Variety ID 2020-P WDDR-028, this variety belongs to the Jefferson Nickels Return to Monticello 2006 to Date series.
