Description
The 2016 (S) Proof 100th Anniversary National Park Service Commemorative Half Dollar is a proof commemorative half dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint. The U.S. Mint produced 54,962 examples. Part of the National Park Service centennial three-coin program, this half dollar captures the joy of discovery that parks provide to visitors of all ages. The obverse features a hiker discovering wilderness and a child discovering a frog in ferns, while the reverse displays the National Park Service arrowhead logo. Designed by Barbara Fox/Thomas Hipschen. Struck in copper-nickel, weighing 11.34 grams, 30.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #595479.
