The 2016 (D) 100th Anniversary National Park Service Commemorative Half Dollar was struck at the Denver Mint as a half dollar in the Modern Commemorative Half Dollars (1982-Date) series. With a mintage of 21,335, this is a scarce issue β the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue and the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry.
