This variety was discovered on the 2012 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent, part of the Lincoln Shield Cents 2010 to Date series. Die markers: Stage “C“, obverse is LDS – a die gouge is seen just above the left arm of the Y in LIBERTY. Another smaller die gouge is seen above the last 2 digit in the date. Reverse is LDS – a die crack is seen along the left top edge of the shield. This die was found by Albert Niles Sr.
