2009 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-003

Description

Doubling shows as extra thickness on the ERTY of LIBERTY where it is best seen on the upper right Y, and on the lower hair and beard details. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A die crack runs from SW to NE through the upper back of the head below the GO of GOD. A die crack runs SW to NE in the hair at the top of the head starting below the D of GOD and ending SSW of the W in WE. A nearly horizontal pre-die crack depression can be found at the top of the front curl of hair below the TR of TRUST. A die crack runs NW through the eyebrow and into the forehead. A branch of this die crack runs west just above the eyebrow. A die crack runs NE to SW through the bowtie and then curves south into the vest. Obverse Stage B: Same as Stage A. Reverse Stage A: The reverse is a doubled die listed as 2009 1¢ EC WDDR-123A. Reverse Stage B: The reverse is a doubled die listed as 2009 1¢ EC WDDR-123B.
