Description

Sixth in the Wexler catalog of doubled die obverses for the 2008-P New Mexico State Quarter (reference: 2008-P 25c NM WDDO-006), this variety documents a hub misalignment event on one of the final issues in the 50 State Quarters program. New Mexico was the forty-seventh state honored in the program, and its obverse — shared across all State Quarters — features John Flanagan's Washington portrait with the standard inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, QUARTER DOLLAR, LIBERTY, and IN GOD WE TRUST.
