2007 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-016

Description

Targeting the cowboy-on-bucking-bronco design unique to the Wyoming State Quarter, the 2007 DDR-016 shows medium hub doubling spread around the lower saddle horn — the pommel projection at the front of the western saddle depicted on the rider. The saddle horn is a small but precisely rendered design element, and medium doubling in this area creates visible secondary contours that serve as a focused attribution point. Die markers UVC-1716 and DMR-018 track this working die across three documented stages: Stage A where reverse and obverse are in early die state, Stage B in mid die state (unconfirmed), and Stage C in late die state (unconfirmed). This variety can be found in both Satin Finish Mint Sets (the special matte finish issued from 2005 through 2010) and standard circulation strikes. The Wyoming quarter, released in 2007 as part of the 50 State Quarters program (1999-2008), features the bucking horse and rider evoking the state's cowboy heritage.
