2007-D Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-004
ErrorDescription
On the reverse of the 2007-D Wyoming State Quarter, WDDR-004 displays doubling on the horse's mane below the saddle horn — a detail within the bucking horse and rider design that represents Wyoming's cowboy heritage. Attributed by the Wexler Team, the variety also carries numerous die gouges around the obverse, providing secondary attribution markers beyond the reverse doubling itself. The Wyoming quarter was the 44th release in the 50 State Quarters Program (1999-2008), struck in copper-nickel clad composition at the Denver Mint. State Quarter doubled dies are collected both by variety specialists and by State Quarter program completionists who seek varieties within each state's design. The bucking horse motif on Wyoming's quarter features fine detail in the mane and rider that serves as a natural indicator for hub displacement, and the below-saddle-horn location of the doubling on WDDR-004 places it in an area where even moderate magnification reveals the secondary impression.
