Description

WDDR-002 is the second catalogued doubled die reverse variety for the 2007-D Wyoming State Quarter, attributed by the Wexler Team and catalogued as Wexler Variety ID 2007-D 25¢ WY WDDR-002. Doubling is concentrated on the horse's mane to the left of the first lock of hair below the saddle horn, targeting the same prominent central design element of the Wyoming reverse — the cowboy aboard a bucking bronco. Several die markers confirm the attribution: a short die crack extends west from the front tip of the bust on the obverse, a die gouge appears in the inner right side of the Q in QUARTER, and an additional die gouge appears below another obverse element. The 2007-D Wyoming State Quarter was struck in copper-nickel clad composition at the Denver Mint. Cross-reference: Wexler Variety ID: 2007-D 25¢ WY WDDR-002. Die gouge above the left side of the E in STATE.Submitted By: Blair CutlerCross References: None known Obverse: None significant.
