2004 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-014

Description

Third among the Wisconsin cow nostril doubled die reverses documented in this group, DDR-014 presents medium spread in the southwest direction on the upper outer nostril — combining the upper nostril location of DDR-010 with the southwest directional spread of DDR-011. This distinct combination of position and direction confirms that DDR-014 was produced from yet another unique die with its own hubbing misalignment characteristics. To summarize the trio: DDR-010 shows northwest spread on the upper nostril, DDR-011 shows southwest spread on the lower nostril, and DDR-014 shows southwest spread on the upper nostril. Stage A documentation places both the reverse and obverse in early die state, consistent with the other Wisconsin nostril varieties. Cataloged by VarietyVista as UVC-1989 and DMR-015, DDR-014 extends the remarkable concentration of doubled die varieties centered on the cow's nostril area of the Wisconsin reverse design.
