2002D-1DER-006T Trail Die Reverse

Description

Trail lines from the top left corners of the EPU letters, along with trail lines from the left corners of the stylobate, at an offset direction of 320 degrees mark this Denver Mint Lincoln Memorial Cent variety. Found by Jeremy Gardner. Die markers at Stage B: obverse at MDS with a small die gouge under the N of IN; reverse at MDS with a die dot to the right of column 12 and a short, heavy die scratch between the TA of STATES. Trail die errors arise when two dies make partial unintended contact during press operation, transferring faint architectural and inscription details. The northwest offset direction (320 degrees) places the trail lines extending upward and leftward from their source elements. Struck in copper-plated zinc at 2.5 grams and 19.05 mm, Gasparro's Memorial reverse provides twelve columns and detailed stylobate elements that make trail deviations precisely traceable to specific features.
