Listed by Trail Dies as 2000D-1DER-003WS, this Denver-mint Lincoln Memorial Cent reverse documents die deterioration at Stage C — a late die state indicating substantial wear on the working die. At this advanced stage, the reverse exhibits characteristic deterioration markers including a die dot positioned over the N of CENT and additional die dots scattered around the CA of AMERICA. These dot-like raised features result from small pits forming in the die face as it fatigues under repeated striking pressure, with each pit transferring a corresponding raised bump to every subsequent coin.
