1994P-1DEO-011T Trail Die Obverse
Error
Description
Found by George Finster, 1994P-1DEO-011T is a trail die obverse on the 1994 Philadelphia Lincoln cent showing trails off LIBERTY going west-northwest, with light trails on IN GOD and slight trails on WE. The offset direction is 275 degrees. The LIBERTY trail appearance is similar to dies 001, 002, and 006 in the series but at a different offset direction, allowing collectors to compare how slight changes in displacement angle produce different trail geometries on the same inscription. Die markers: Stage B, obverse is MDS with an odd die dent below Lincoln's bust (K6). Reverse is early-to-mid die state (EMDS) with no markers identified. The asymmetric die state pairing — mid-die-state obverse with early-mid reverse — suggests the obverse die had been in service longer than the reverse, possibly having been paired with an earlier reverse die before receiving this one. Cataloged by Trail Dies.
