Description

At Stage B mid-die state, 1994P-1DEO-005T is a trail die obverse on the 1994 Philadelphia Lincoln cent with distinctive reverse die markers that aid attribution. No significant markers appear on the obverse at this die state, but the reverse carries a die gouge next to the left edge of the Memorial building base along with a series of four die dots clustered around the right corner of the Memorial building base. This cluster of four die dots is an unusual marker — most die marker profiles record isolated gouges or scratches, and the presence of four discrete dots in close proximity suggests either a single impact event that fragmented the die surface at multiple contact points or a series of closely spaced impacts from particulate debris in the coining chamber. Cataloged by Trail Dies.
