Description

A notable doubled die variety on America's premier silver bullion coin, the 1990-S Proof American Silver Eagle WDDO-001 exhibits a spread towards the center on the date, the bottom right ray, the bottom of the gown, and IN GOD WE TRUST — four distinct diagnostic zones spanning Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty obverse, originally designed for the half dollar in 1916 and reused for the Silver Eagle program launched in 1986. The obverse features Liberty striding forward draped in the American flag, with rays of sunlight behind her, and the inward-directed spread affects elements across the lower and middle portions of this composition.
