Description

Among the strongest doubled die obverses cataloged for the 1990 Philadelphia Lincoln Memorial cent, WDDO-004 displays a pronounced counterclockwise spread from a pivot point at approximately the 2:00 position, affecting LIBERTY, IN, the date, the bowtie, and the front of the vest above and below the bowtie. This rotational doubling signature — where the secondary hub impression rotated relative to the primary around a fixed pivot — produces progressively wider spread on design elements positioned farther from the pivot axis, explaining why the date and LIBERTY show stronger effects than elements near the 2:00 pivot.
