Description

As the eleventh cataloged repunched mint mark for the 1987-D Lincoln Memorial cent, RPM-011 carries VarietyVista identifiers UVC-1023 and DMR-012 and follows the established three-stage die progression documentation. The direction of the secondary D displacement is unspecified, consistent with several other varieties in the 1987-D RPM series where the offset is subtle enough to resist clear directional classification. Approaching the end of the thirteen-variety census, RPM-011 occupies a position among the later-documented entries — varieties that were identified after the more prominent or easily detected repunchings had already been cataloged and assigned lower numbers. Later-numbered RPMs often exhibit fainter secondary impressions or more challenging attribution characteristics, since the most visually obvious varieties tend to be discovered and reported first by cherry-pickers.
