Description
ADC-5c-1983-06 This is an atypical 1983-P Jefferson nickel showing two clash events, with one of the events having an abnormal offset. This coin is in the collection of Kevin Mader . Overlay of one of the die clash events. This is the more normal of the two events. The other clash event show a slight tilt between the dies and also an offset between the die faces. This is the only clash mark left by the normal event. It was formed by the field and the brow and forehead of Jefferson. The clash event that was offset shows clash mark generated by the field, the under part of Jefferson’s jaw and the collar of his coat in the image to the left. The image to the right shows the clash marks generated by Jefferson’s queue.
