For error coin purposes, this crossover status adds interpretive depth: a cud on a Bronze Small Date die reflects failure conditions on a die that was part of the transition-era tool set, potentially subjected to different handling or press conditions than dies used for the established Bronze Large Date production. The cent's 95% copper composition and 3.1-gram weight are confirmed through the standard weighing and visual inspection that every 1982 attribution requires.
