Description
The 1970-S Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-004 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1970 (S) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Large Date, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Die markers: Obverse: Two parallel die scratches run SSW from the bottoms of the R and T in LIBERTY. A die scratch runs from SSW to NNE north of the T in LIBERTY. A die gouge can be found on the vest SW of the 1 in the date. Reverse: A die gouge can be found on the upper part of the vertical bar of the T in LIBERTY.
