Description

Classified as a Class I clockwise (CW) rotated hub doubling, WDDO-007 on the 1970-D Lincoln Memorial cent exhibits spread doubling across LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date — the signature triad of obverse elements most susceptible to hub rotation errors. Cross-referenced as CONECA 8-O-I, Crawford CDDO-002, and Coppercoins 1970D-1DO-011, this variety benefits from independent documentation across multiple attribution networks, confirming its authenticity and establishing consistent diagnostic benchmarks. Six die states have been cataloged across both surfaces, painting an unusually complete picture of the die's productive life. The obverse progresses through three stages: Stage 1 introduces die gouges above the second T in TRUST along with die pitting below the 0 in the date, accompanied by clash marks behind Lincoln's neck.
