Description

Medium spread on IN GOD and Kennedy's eye, with lighter spread on WE, characterizes DDO-032 on the 1964 Proof Kennedy Half Dollar — the inaugural year of a design born from national tragedy. Attributed by VarietyVista as UVC-360 with die marriage DMR-047, this variety pairs obverse die variant ODV-002 with reverse die variant RDV-001, the Straight G reverse identified by the shape of Gasparro's initial. Three die states are documented: EDS and LDS confirmed on both dies, MDS unconfirmed. The 1964 proof Kennedy Half was struck in 90% silver, and the enormous demand following President Kennedy's assassination drove record proof set sales — 3.95 million sets — requiring numerous die pairs. The doubling visible on Kennedy's eye is a particularly notable identification feature, providing a visual anchor for attributors examining this variety among the many 1964 proof doubled dies in the series.
