Description
Light triple spread on LIBERTY and WE TRUST with very light spread on 60 of the date — an uncommon triple-hubbed variety on the 1960 Franklin Half Dollar. Die tracking: UVC-139, DMR-006. Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed). Stage B: obverse and reverse are MDS. Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). Triple spread results from three distinct hub impressions during die manufacture at slightly different positions. The Franklin Half Dollar series (1948-1963), designed by John R. Sinnock with a Liberty Bell reverse, saw only four more production years before replacement by the Kennedy Half Dollar in 1964. Cataloged by VarietyVista.
