1959-D Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002
ErrorDescription
Following the lead listing, WDDR-002 from the 1959-D Jefferson nickel series presents Class II (Distorted Hub Doubling) with a close spread on E PLURIBUS UNUM. While more subtle than its WDDR-001 sibling, this variety remains confirmable through careful examination of the motto lettering under moderate magnification. The obverse diagnostic is a die scratch running from the top of the E of WE to the first T of TRUST—a fairly long and distinctive marker that aids in preliminary screening. On the reverse, a die gouge above the long right window and a die dot to the lower left of the L of PLURIBUS complete the attribution fingerprint. The window-area markers on Monticello are particularly helpful, as they occupy regions of fine architectural detail where any anomaly stands out against the building's regular geometry.
Die Markers

- Reverse: Die gouge above long right window; die dot to lower left of L of PLURIBUS.
