1959-D Repunched Mintmark WRPM-004

Description

The 1959-D Roosevelt Dime WRPM-004 is a D/D/D/D quadruple-punched repunched mintmark — four distinct D punch impressions on a single working die — with secondary punches oriented Northwest, Tilted, and Tilted (Rotated). Wexler attribution is 1959-D 10¢ WRPM-004, cross-referenced as CONECA RPM #3. The Cherrypickers listing FS-10-1959D-503 was removed from the 6th Edition, though CONECA and Wexler attributions remain active. Die markers are well documented: the obverse shows many crisscrossing die scratches throughout LIBERTY, while the reverse carries short die gouges extending south from the lower left olive leaf cluster and additional die gouges through the upper olive. The quadruple-punch designation is exceptional — most documented RPM varieties involve two punch events, and a confirmed D/D/D/D requires four clearly distinguishable impressions, each at a measurably different position. The Roosevelt Dime was produced in 90% silver through 1964, and 1959-D examples in the pre-clad composition are the correct type for this variety.
