1959-D Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-008
ErrorDescription
Wexler Team listing WDDO-008 adds another entry to the 1959-D Lincoln cent doubled eyelid family, showing the characteristic extra eyelid below the normal one. This variety is authenticated by a small die gouge appearing as a dot above the Y in LIBERTY on the obverse, and on the reverse, a small die gouge between the tops of the O and the N in ONE. The precision of these two markers—small, specific, and located near high-traffic legend areas—makes WDDO-008 a clean attribution exercise for collectors with moderate magnification. While the doubled eyelid effect itself is consistent across many 1959-D varieties, the die-specific fingerprints are what distinguish each listing, and WDDO-008's dot above LIBERTY is particularly easy to spot when scanning circulation-find candidates.
