Description
The 1957 Roosevelt Dime was struck at the Philadelphia Mint as a dime in the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 series. The U.S. Mint produced 160.1 million examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 59% of production. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes and the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. Minted during the post-war economic boom, the final era of silver circulating coinage in the United States before the Coinage Act of 1965. Philadelphia's mint — the nation's first — has produced coins without interruption since its founding in 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $7 to $13 depending on grade and condition.
