Description

Cataloged by the Wexler Team and cross-referenced as CONECA RPM #1 — the primary CONECA listing for the 1957-D date — this Jefferson Nickel carries dual attribution verification. Obverse markers include a die scratch north from the lower left inside of the O in GOD. The reverse shows E/W die scratches through the MON of MONTICELLO with lighter E/W scratches on the lower field, suggesting a systematic surface event such as die polishing. Struck at Denver in 1957, this nickel is 75% copper and 25% nickel, weighing 5.0 grams at 21.21 mm diameter. The CONECA RPM #1 as lead listing validates this as the primary recognized repunched mintmark for the date, with the Wexler WRPM-003 providing independent dual-source documentation.
