Description
Fourth reverse cud for the 1955 Denver Lincoln Wheat Cent — a date most famous for Philadelphia's dramatic doubled die obverse, though Denver's production generated its own die varieties. Denver struck approximately 563 million cents in 1955, requiring many die pairs. Rim cuds form when the die edge fractures under concentrated forces where the raised rim meets the collar, and a separated section leaves a cavity filling with bronze planchet metal.
