Description

Cross-referenced as Fivaz-Stanton FS-503, this VarietyVista-documented 1955-D Lincoln Wheat Cent with D/D East displacement is actively sought by Cherrypickers' Guide users. Die markers UVC-534 / DMR-004 track five progressive stages: Stage A with obverse and reverse at EDS; Stage B with obverse at MDS and a die clash on N of CENT at MDS; Stage C with obverse at LDS, a die crack upper left wheat to rim, and a small die chip on T of CENT; Stage D with obverse at LDS and a medium die chip on T of CENT at LDS; Stage E with a light die crack on forehead at VLDS and reverse at VLDS. The T of CENT die chip growing from small to medium across Stages C and D documents progressive metal loss at a single stress point. Composed of 95% copper and 5% tin-zinc at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm, struck at the Denver Mint.
