Error
Description
Strong extra thickness shows on the letters of IGWT. Extra thickness also shows on LIBERTY and the date. Die Markers: Obverse: Three parallel die scratches run from WNW to ESE to the right of the lower 9. A short, vertical die gouge can be found to the right of the top of the L in LIBERTY. Three parallel die scratches run from NNW to SSE between the B and E of LIBERTY. A short, vertical die gouge can be found to the right of the center of the T in LIBERTY. Reverse: A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing. A die crack runs from the S in PLURUBUS down the upper part of the eagles’ left wing. A die scratch runs NW from the bottom left 1st A in AMERICA. Obverse:
