Cataloged by VarietyVista, the 1954-D Wheat Cent DDO-001 is a multi-stage doubled die obverse tracked across four die stages under two distinct UVC/DMR code pairs — reflecting a die-life history in which two different reverse dies were paired with the same doubled obverse die. Stages A and B carry UVC-1827 and DMR-007; Stages C and D carry UVC-1830 and DMR-010, documenting the reverse die change partway through the obverse die's working life. The primary doubling feature is a strong southward spread visible on the eyelid — a hub doubling position that is easier to confirm than many date or motto doublings because the curved eyelid margin provides a clear reference edge.
