Error
Description
Doubling shows as a doubled eyelid to the southeast. Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse is also an RPM which is listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1951-D 1¢ WRPM-022. Stage A: Light NW-SE oriented die scratches run through the 5 in the date. A die scratch runs SW from the lower B in LIBERTY. A die gouge shows in the field below and between the TY in LIBERTY. Numerous light die scratches show above the TY in LIBERTY and behind the head. A stronger die scratch runs along the back of the hair, NE of the Y in LIBERTY. A tiny die gouge (dot) shows behind Lincoln’s lower hair. Stage B: Most Stage A die markers are faded, but visible. Reverse: Stage A: A die gouge (dot) shows below the lower curve of the C in CENT. A series of die scratches run ENE from the lower opening in the C in AMERICA. A pair of light, but long die scratches run ENE from the upper right corner of the N in CENT into the upper right wheat stalk. A N-S oriented die scratch shows at the base of the upper opening of the N in CENT. Stage B: Most Stage A die markers are still visible.
