Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1949-D 10¢ WRPM-002 and cross-referenced as CONECA RPM #1, this Roosevelt Silver Dime displays a D/D repunched mintmark where the secondary impression is tilted or rotated relative to the primary — indicating that when the Denver mintmark punch was applied a second time to correct its position, the punch was held at a slightly different angle, creating a rotational offset between the two impressions rather than a simple directional shift. Obverse die markers include a die chip on the nose above the nostril of Roosevelt's portrait, while the reverse exhibits a die gouge touching the lower left corner of the E in AMERICA. The tilted repunch is diagnostically important because rotational RPMs produce a distinctive visual signature where different portions of the secondary D show varying degrees of separation from the primary letter, appearing to fan outward at some points and converge at others.
