Cataloged by VarietyVista as UVC-1771 with die marriage DMR-014, the 1948-S Lincoln Wheat Cent DDO-003 displays strong extra thickness on three obverse elements: TRUST, the date, and Lincoln's eyelid — a combination that places it among the more visually accessible DDOs for the date. The doubling is noted as not as strong as the companion variety DDO-002, establishing a clear hierarchy of doubling intensity across the 1948-S DDO varieties.
