Error
Description
A very close spread toward the center shows on the 4 of the date and the designer's initials. Die Markers: Obverse: Type I. Die scratch NE from right center of the T in LIBERTY. Die scratch SW from left center of the Y in LIBERTY. E/W die scratches centered between the L and I of LIBERTY. Reverse: Trumpet tail mintmark. The reverse is a doubled die that is listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1946-S 10¢ WDDR-013. A CW spread from a pivot at 11:00 shows on AMERICA, ONE DIME, UNUM, right side leaves and the oak stem. Long die scratch, north, from the right upper side of the fist U in PLURIBUS through the stem of the left lower olive leaf. Die scratches south from the left lower olive leaf and through the olive. Mass of die chips on the torch holder where the leaves of both sides touch.
