Description

As a first-year Roosevelt Dime variety, this 1946-S DDO-011 carries particular significance — the Roosevelt design debuted in 1946 to honor President Franklin D. Roosevelt, whose advocacy for the March of Dimes made the ten-cent denomination a natural tribute. Medium spread is visible on the date, the designer's initials (JS for John R. Sinnock, displayed top to bottom), IN GOD WE TRUST, and LIBERTY, creating an unusually broad pattern of obverse doubling touching virtually every major design element.
