1944 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-001

Description

Documented across an impressive four die stages, the 1944 DDR-001 Washington Quarter provides one of the most detailed die-life records in the series. Cataloged as UVC-0377 with DMR-002, this variety shows medium spread on United States of America, Quarter Dollar, and the lower left stem. Stage A represents early die state, Stage B mid-die state, while Stages C and D reveal the die in its later phases — with the obverse paired as DDO-001 in both. Stage D reaches very late die state with a die crack at the back of the hair extending into the field between the T and Y of LIBERTY. The pairing of this DDR with DDO-001 on the same die marriage means collectors can potentially identify both obverse and reverse doubling on a single coin.
