Description

Bearing an unusually large S mintmark punched over a previous S positioned to the northwest, this 1941 San Francisco Lincoln Wheat Cent is cataloged as CONECA RPM #11 and recognized on the CONECA Top 100 RPM list — a distinction reserved for the most significant repunched mintmark varieties across all U.S. coin series. The Wexler Variety ID is 1941-S 1-cent WRPM-011. The large size of the S mintmark is itself a diagnostic feature, as San Francisco used mintmark punches of varying sizes during this period.
