Description

Lincoln's eye provides the canvas for this 1941 Wheat Cent doubled die obverse, where medium spread manifests as an extra eyelid visible to the south of the primary eye detail. The phenomenon of doubled eyelids ranks among the more visually compelling forms of hub doubling on Lincoln Cents, as the human eye naturally draws attention to facial features where even subtle displacement becomes noticeable.
