Description
Extra thickness on E PLURIBUS UNUM, dots, and the left wheat ear and stem marks this second DDR for the 1935 Denver Wheat Cent. Die markers: UVC-2852, DMR-008. Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed). Stage B: MDS (unconfirmed). Stage C: Reverse LDS, Obverse EDS — an unusual asymmetry suggesting the worn reverse was paired with a fresh replacement obverse, standard Mint practice for maximizing die usage. Denver struck about 47.0 million cents in 1935 during the Depression. The fine serifs and parallel grain lines of Brenner's reverse reveal the hub displacement under moderate magnification.
