Description
Cross-referenced as Fivaz-Stanton FS-503, this VarietyVista-documented 1934-D Lincoln Wheat Cent bears a D/D/D/D South, South, North quadruple-punched mintmark from the Denver Mint. Die markers span two pairings: UVC-041 / DMR-006 with Stage A showing strong secondary mintmarks north and far south at EDS, a die scratch northeast inside C of CENT, and a die gouge dot above the left stem; Stage B with medium secondary mintmark at MDS and reverse at MDS; Stage C with weak secondary mintmark and die crack in lower right wheat to rim at LDS. UVC-042 / DMR-007: Stage D with very weak secondary mintmark at VLDS and reverse die changed at MDS. The quadruple D/D/D/D pattern records four distinct punch contacts, with the combined north and south displacements documenting corrections in opposing directions. Composed of 95% copper and 5% tin-zinc at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm, struck during the mid-Depression era.
