1925-S Repunched Mintmark WRPM-006
Error
Description
Cross-referenced as CONECA RPM #6 and Coppercoins 1925S-1MM-006, this San Francisco Wheat Cent is cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1925-S 1¢ WRPM-006. The displacement is S/S Tilted (Rotated). Die markers: Obverse: Die chip on bust below D of designer's initials. Reverse: Die clash mark below M of UNUM, which appears to be the full shape of the mintmark. The clash-transferred mintmark is diagnostically fascinating — it documents a die clash event and confirms the S's exact shape and position on the obverse at the time of the clash, creating a phantom mintmark impression on the reverse. Struck at San Francisco in 1925, composed of 95% copper, 5% tin/zinc (3.11 g, 19.05 mm). The triple cross-referencing confirms broad recognition, and the rotated displacement creates varying separation around the S.
