1906 Indian Head Cent Repunched Date and Misplaced Date FS-302 Snow-14
Error
Description
This 1906 Indian Head cent displays a combined Repunched Date and Misplaced Date variety designated FS-302 (Snow-14). The original 0 was punched south of the final date position, and the tops of the digits 06 are punched in the lower denticles below the date. This dual-error variety shows evidence of at least two mispositioning events during die preparation — the date punch struck too low (misplaced into the denticles) and also shifted south of its intended position (repunched). The combination of both error types on a single die makes this a particularly interesting variety.
