Description
1901-O VAM-11 Slanted Date, O Tilted Left, Denticle Impressions Reverse Discovered by Martin Field, November 1978. Revised 2010, 2011(Brent Fogelberg). 11(revised) III2 6 - C4b (Slanted Date, O Tilted Left, Denticle Impressions Reverse) (181) Obverse III2 6 - Die 1 -Date slanted and in normal lateral position with right 1 higher than the left 1. Die marker - Horizontal die scratch below eye. Die 2- Date slanted and in normal lateral position with right 1 higher than the left 1. Faint thin curved thread-like die impression below lowest cotton leaf. Reverse C4b - Die 1 - Slight doubling/tripling of bottom inside of legend letters of C4 hub doubling. Die 2- Two vertical rows of four raised dots each to right of lower arrow head from impression of denticles. Spacing between them matches denticle spacing. Slight hub doubling of UNITED STATES OF AMERiCA towards rim. Die marker- Two thin diagonal die scratches at left wreath opposite N in UNITED. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Die 2: Has slanted date & O m/m tilted left of VAM 11. Different dies than one reported by David Druzisky with denticle impressions to rt of arrowhead. Has hub doubling of reverse legend letters. Made this Die 2 obv & rev.
