Description

1900-S VAM-12 Slanted Date Discovered by Martin Field, October 1981. Revised 2020. 12 III2 7 - C3b (Slanted Date) (189) Obverse III2 7 - Slight slant to date with 1 closest to rim. and 1 slightly left at normal third denticle. Die marker - Long single horizontal die polishing line at neck rear above designer's initial M. Reverse C3b - Wide V S mint mark set slightly to right. Die marker - Die polishing lines in wing-neck gap. Comments: MDS comes clashed with no letter transfer. Break in wreath above R in DOLLAR to small to list per LVA. Note the "significant" chip out of the outside, bottom right of the second 0 in the date. Not the same die pair as 1900-S VAM-12A.
