1891-S VAM-10 Far Date, High S Mint Mark Revised September 2024 10 III2 15 • C3i (Far Date, High S Mint Mark) (190) Obverse III2 15 Reverse C3i - S mint mark set high. Leaves above N in ONE detached from wreath. Upper part of eagle's left wing slightly overpolished leaving a notch on the edge near the F and the A in AMERICA slightly thin. Die Marker - Lines in wing-neck gap DPIS - LE4/RH5 Emission Sequence Obverse: 5D, 10 Reverse: 1891-S VAM-10, 1891-S VAM-1E. Comments: Note from LVA, may have slight shortening of eagle's left wing tip but not as much as 1891-S VAM-1E which has gaps between feathers. Shortened wing tip isn't strong enough to be readily apparent. Slight line at end of hair below M-may be in hub for this year. The exact same reverse die was used to produce the 1891-S VAM-1E and the 1891-S VAM-10 (VAM-10 came first).
