Description
1890-S VAM-5 S/S Right Discovered by Maurice Dubreuil, January 1975. Revised 2017 By Brian Haight 5 (revised) III2 1 - C3d (S/S Right, Scribbles Face) Obverse III 2 1 - Liberty head face has scribbling die scratches at top and rear plus bottom edge of jaw, chin,front of eye and above and below mouth plus back of neck. Die marker- Diagonal die scratch thru top right of T and top left of Y in LIBERTY Reverse C3d - IV S mint mark repunched with original showing to right of the upper serif with 3 notches and slight notch at bottom left of lower serif. Mint mark set high with slight tilt to left. Die marker- Die polishing lines in eagle's wing-neck gap. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Shares reverse with 1890-S VAM-4.
