Description
1890-S VAM-20 S/S Lines, Doubled Arrows Discovered by Martin Field, April 1981. Revised 02/2016 Tmanhg 20 (revised) III2 1 - C3l (S/S Lines, Doubled Arrows) (190) Obverse III2 1 - Die 1- Date lateral position slightly left of middle of normal position. Die marker - Numerous diagonal polishing lines in upper bar of E in LIBERTY. Occurs with earlier die state of reverse. Reverse C3l - IV S mint mark re-punched mint mark with original showing to right of upper serif, broken line in upper part of upper loop on EDS and diagonal line below middle bar. Arrow shafts and feathers doubled at bottom edges. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Reverse die 1 & die 2 share the exact reverse die paired with 2 different obverses. Die 2 shares the exact obverse with 1890-S VAM-45 & 1890-S VAM-45A. Crack on forehead (LDS examples only) is very similar but DIFFERENT than the crack forehead of 1890-S VAM-38.
